Nutrition & Meal Plans
Track macros, log food in seconds, and create personalized meal plans for your clients.
Setting Macro Targets and TDEE
Each client has a nutrition profile where you set their daily calorie and macro targets. To configure these, open Client Detail → Nutrition → Edit Targets.
You can either enter targets manually or use the built-in TDEE calculator:
- Enter the client's body weight, height, age, and biological sex.
- Select their activity level (sedentary through very active).
- Choose their goal (maintenance, deficit, or surplus) and intensity.
- The calculator returns a suggested daily calorie target and a macro breakdown split by protein, carbohydrates, and fat.
- Adjust any values and click Save Targets.
Once set, the client's daily nutrition log shows a progress ring for calories, protein, carbs, and fat — updated in real time as they log meals.
AI Food Photo Logging
AI food photo logging is available on Pro plans and above. Clients can photograph any meal and the platform will identify the foods and estimate a macro breakdown — no manual searching required.
To log a meal by photo:
- Open the mobile app → Nutrition → Log Meal.
- Tap the camera icon and take a clear, well-lit photo of the food.
- The platform identifies the items and returns an estimated nutritional breakdown.
- Review the results, adjust portion sizes if needed, and confirm.
Accuracy is highest for whole foods, restaurant-style dishes, and meals with distinct components. Combined or blended dishes will show estimates. Clients can always edit any field after the photo is processed.
Barcode Scanning for Food
Barcode scanning is available on Growth plans and above. It instantly pulls nutritional data from packaged food labels, saving clients from manual data entry.
To use it:
- Open the mobile app → Nutrition → Log Meal.
- Tap the barcode icon and point the camera at the product's barcode.
- The platform looks up the product and fills in the serving size and macros automatically.
- Enter how many servings were consumed and confirm.
If a product is not found in the database, clients can add it manually and it becomes available for future lookups.
Creating AI Meal Plans
AI meal plan generation is available on Growth plans and above. The platform creates a week of meals calibrated to the client's macro targets, food preferences, and dietary restrictions.
Go to Dashboard → AI Tools → Generate Meal Plan:
- Select the client and confirm their current macro targets.
- Enter any dietary preferences (vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, etc.).
- List any foods to exclude.
- Choose the number of meals per day.
The platform produces a full 7-day meal plan with meals, ingredients, and macro totals per day. You can regenerate individual meals, swap foods, or edit portions. Once satisfied, assign the plan to the client. Growth plans include 15 AI meal plan generations per month; Pro and above are unlimited.
Natural Language Food Logging
Clients can type a plain-language description of what they ate and the platform will parse it into a nutritional log entry. This is useful for quick logging on the go without searching a database.
Examples of accepted input:
- "2 scrambled eggs with toast and butter"
- "grilled chicken breast, about 200g, with a side salad"
- "large latte with oat milk"
The platform extracts foods and portion sizes, estimates macros, and adds the entry to the day's log. Clients can review and adjust any field before confirming. The more specific the description, the more accurate the result.
AI Feature Limits by Plan
AI features — workout generation, meal plan creation, and food photo logging — are included on Growth, Pro, Studio, and Enterprise plans. Free plans do not include AI tools.
AI limits per coach account:
| Feature | Free | Growth | Pro / Studio / Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI workout generations | — | 30 / month | Unlimited |
| AI meal plan generations | — | 15 / month | Unlimited |
| AI food photo analyses | — | 30 / day | Unlimited |
Workout and meal-plan limits reset on the first day of each billing month; the food photo limit resets daily. You can track your current usage in Settings → Plan & Billing → AI Usage.
When you reach the limit for a feature on Growth, that AI button is disabled for the rest of the month. A banner in the dashboard will let you know you have hit the cap. The fastest way to get unlimited access is to upgrade to Pro from Settings → Plan & Billing → Change Plan.
