AI Coach Tools

Kounisou's AI does the time-consuming parts of coaching — programming, meal planning, progress analysis, and first-draft replies — so you can spend your time actually coaching. Everything the AI produces is a draft for you to review: nothing reaches a client without you.

Generating a Workout Program with AI

The AI workout generator builds a complete, periodized program — days, exercises, sets, reps, rest, and coaching cues — from a short brief. Available on Growth plans and above.

The fastest way is from the client you're programming for:

  1. Open the client from Clients and click Generate Program in the AI Coach Tools row. The generator opens with that client already selected, so the finished program is assigned to them when you save.
  2. Set the goal, experience level, training days, session length, available equipment, and program length. Mention injuries or preferences — the AI respects them strictly.
  3. Click Generate. After a few seconds you get the full program to review. Edit anything you like — it saves into the normal program builder, so it's your program from that point on.

You can also start from AI Tools → Workout Generator without a client and save the result as a reusable template.

Creating AI Meal Plans

The meal-plan generator produces 1–7 day plans with recipes, per-ingredient macros, step-by-step instructions, a merged shopping list grouped by store section, and prep tips. Available on Growth plans and above.

  1. From a client's page, click Meal Plan in the AI Coach Tools row — the generator opens with the client selected and their calorie and macro targets calculated automatically from their profile (weight, height, age, activity level, and goal).
  2. Adjust the targets if needed, then set meals per day, days to generate, dietary restrictions, allergies, cuisine preferences, budget, and cooking skill. Allergies are treated as zero-tolerance.
  3. Click Generate. Short plans take under a minute; a full 7-day plan takes a few minutes — keep the tab open. Review the plan, then save it.

Tip: generate a 3-day plan and ask the client to repeat it, or a 7-day plan for full variety — both hit the same daily targets.

AI Client Analysis

AI analysis reads a client's recent training, nutrition, and check-in data and returns a coach-ready summary: adherence, progress trends, key observations, and a recommended priority action. Available on Growth plans and above.

Open it from the client's page via Analyze Progress (the client is preselected), or from AI Tools → Client Analysis. Choose a time range — 2 weeks, 1 month, or 3 months — and click Analyze. Results appear on screen; nothing is sent to the client.

Drafting Check-in Replies with AI

When you review a client's check-in, the AI can write your first draft — a short, personal reply that references their actual numbers and answers, celebrates what went well, and suggests one concrete focus for the week ahead.

  1. Go to Check-ins and click Review on a submission (or use the Review with AI shortcuts on your Calendar's Needs attention list).
  2. In the review dialog, click Draft with AI. The draft appears in the notes box in a few seconds.
  3. Edit it until it sounds like you — then Mark as Reviewed. The client is notified of your feedback.

The AI never sends anything itself. If a check-in mentions pain or a health concern, the draft will flag it for a conversation rather than give medical advice — and neither should you inside Kounisou; refer out when in doubt.

The “Needs Attention” List

Your Calendar starts with a Needs attention panel that surfaces the two things most worth acting on today:

  • Check-ins to review — submissions waiting on you, each with a Review with AI link that opens the review dialog directly.
  • Clients who haven't trained in 7+ days — so a quiet client never slips by unnoticed. Click through to their page to see context and reach out.

The panel hides itself when everything is handled.

Automation Quick-Start Rules

Under Automationyou'll find one-click starter rules — a missed check-in follow-up, a 7-day inactivity nudge, and streak-break encouragement. Click Add this rule and Kounisou sends the client a friendly in-app message automatically whenever the trigger fires. You can pause any rule with its toggle, or build custom rules with your own triggers and wording.

AI Limits by Plan

Monthly and daily AI allowances depend on your Kounisou plan:

  • Free — AI tools are not included.
  • Growth — 30 AI workout programs and 15 meal plans per month, plus 30 interactive AI actions per day (food photo logging, chat, and check-in reply drafts share this daily allowance).
  • Pro, Studio, and Enterprise — unlimited AI generations.

Only successful generations count against your allowance — if a generation fails, you are not charged for it. Usage resets monthly (daily for the interactive allowance) and is shown in your AI Tools dashboard.

Prefer to run AI on your own account? Add your own OpenRouter API key (format sk-or-v1-…) in Settings— your generations then bill to your OpenRouter account and skip Kounisou's plan limits entirely.

Connect Your Own AI Assistant

If you already work with an AI assistant like Claude, you can connect it to your Kounisou account and let it help run your coaching — checking client progress, summarizing check-ins, drafting messages, even assigning programs, all scoped to your business only. See Connecting your AI assistant in Integrations & API for setup.
